Patronage

We are proud and grateful that Agnieszka Holland took honorary patronage of the first Kosciuszko Foundation Washington, DC Polish Film Festival in the capital of the United States.

Ms. Holland’s name resonates across the globe, a testament to her exceptional contributions to the world of film and television. From the intense drama of Angry Harvest (1985) to the gripping historical narrative of Europa, Europa (1990), and the profound human story of In Darkness (2012), Agnieszka Holland's films have been recognized with multiple Oscar nominations.

 

Her versatility is further showcased in her English-language works, including Copying Beethoven (with Ed Harris and Diane Kruger), Washington Square, and The Secret Garden, featuring the incomparable Maggie Smith. She has also left her directing mark on popular television series such as Tremé, House of Cards, and The Wire for HBO. Continuing her streak of success, Agnieszka Holland's recent film Green Border has been met with critical acclaim, amassing an impressive 21 nominations and 17 wins at various worldwide festivals.

 

In 2015, the Kosciuszko Foundation awarded Ms. Holland the KF Pioneer Award and, in 2022, the Medal of Recognition. In 2023, she became an Honorary Trustee of the Kosciuszko Foundation.
